Maya Angelou Was Not Hospitalized

Early this morning we reported that Maya Angelou was hospitalized in Los Angeles; however, it has come to our attention this in fact was not true. Late last night tmz.com reported that Maya Angelou was taken to the hospital early Saturday evening. Of course, if this was reported via tmz.com it was becoming hot via Twitter.
Maya Angelou was scheduled to be in Los Angeles to be honored at the BraveHeart Awards this is why this rumored appeared to be legit. However, according to Maya Angelou’s people she never agreed to be at all that an acceptance speech tape would be sent instead.
We now know that this incident was false. We are glad to know that Maya Angelou is at home doing well. Maya Angelou is a well respected autobiographer and poet; “America’s most visible black female autobiographer” stated by scholar Joanne M. Braxton. It is nice to know that this reported incident is non-factual.
