Usain Bolt, who is the 100m and 200m Olympic champion from Jamaica, completely smashed his own 100m record of 6.69 with an impossible World Record of 6.58 at the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics at the 1936 Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany on Sunday (August 16).
USA’s Tyson Gay came in second with a national record when he crossed the finish line in 9.71 seconds and Jamaican Asafa Powell claimed bronze with 9.84.

Bolt said, “I was ready. I was feeling good after the semi-finals. I knew it was going to be a great race and I executed it. It’s a great time. I did well and I feel good. It was a big build-up. I have to rest up now and no partying for me and come back out Tuesday.”
Gay said, “I ran the best I could. It wasn’t the best on the night - I gave it my all.”
