PRES OBAMA :: JOURNEY FOR CHANGE…

POST by TCole
This evening President Barack Obama gave a national address to clarify his ideas for health care reform. After a lengthy monologue about his position, plan, and reasoning for his insistence for immediate health care reform with an August deadline.
He spoke of holding health care professionals to a higher standard by paying them based on the quality of care & not the quantity of patients. He also would like to see hidden costs in premiums reduced by reducing & eliminating unnecessary costs such as repeat testing due to miscommunication between doctors and specialists.
Ideally he would like to implement technologies that will improve the quality of care Americans receive while still lowering costs. He wants to implement a system that will not neglect regional needs, but still be accomplished in a reasonable amount of time.
He answered questions about his seemingly rushed August deadline by saying that in Washington things don’t get done if no deadlines are imposed, but will not sign a plan that does not work. Obama stated that the letters he reads from everyday Americans who are being wiped out by the cost of health care give him a sense of urgency because he clearly sees that help is needed right now.
Obama’s position is clear, his plan is achievable, goals are realistic and universally beneficial. The question that remains is will Congress be able to design a bill that achieves what Obama has set out to and get it across the table and make health care reform work? Tell us what u think?
