TV ‘PITCHMAN’ BILLY MAYS DEAD AT THE AGE OF 50

VIA EXAMINER
McKees Rocks native and famous TV pitchman Billy Mays has been found dead at the age of 50.
Mays, who recently Twittered about a slightly harrowing experience while flying when the tires blew out on the aircraft, was found dead in his home early this morning by his wife. Early police reports confirm no sign of a break in and suspect no foul play. Though Mays had been struck by debris inside the plane, he showed no signs of being seriously injured and there is no confirmation whether that incident is responsible for his death.
Mays got his first national exposure on the Home Shopping Network selling products for OrangeGlo International, hawking their line of products. He was so successful that other companies have hired him to promote their businesses as well, including ESPN 360 most recently.
Mays had also recently teamed with Anthony Sullivan for the Discovery Channel’s Pitchmen, both a look at the world of pitchmen and the search for perhaps the next great successor to Mays.
That, I don’t see happening as although I may never have been always enamored of the products Mays represented, I always found him to be genuinely enthusiastic and likable as a TV personality.
