Long term players, don’t burn bridges by B Caldwell

Dale M inspired me to write this after a very respected text I received from him.

With anything you do in life you have to remember that each experience, every business transaction, even chance encounter with anyone, could eventually be a part of your scaffolding to success. If you haven’t already figured it out, its a small world regardless of how many miles away someone might live from you, and as the Internet continues to bridge the gap - from both a social and business perspective - it makes it that much more important to hold true and stay real.

The reality of it all is that someone you meet today, may years later become your boss or even your partner and the guy you shun as the geek or the industry dork may become the next best thing. So why not build an alliance rather than a foe? The simple fact of the matter is that you just never know when the one “nobody” might be that “somebody” who will go on to play an integral part in getting you ahead of just simply helping you out. So treat everyone fair and with respect is my motto. Besides, its just the right thing to do, isn’t it?

On a side note, remember that life and success have a funny ways of flipping the script on its players and if there’s one thing I’ve learned from being around so many successful entrepreneurs, its simple fact that you cant ever be secure in your monetary position, but you can always count on your reputation to get you places. the bottom line: money comes and goes, but your rep will stick with you forever. So keep it simple and remember that it takes years to build a great relationship and only seconds to destroy it.

1100 miles away and I met a man on the beach, Ocean Dr, Miami Beach Florida, that new my pops. And from the impression that my father left on this very wealthy individual, he offered me a job working for him directly - A promising life changing experience. I owe this to a man who builds bridges, not burns them.
