VIA 10TV
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Health on Sunday confirmed a case of swine flu in Ohio.
A 9-year-old boy from Elyria, located in Lorain County in northeast Ohio, is considered to have a mild case of the disease and is recovering at home, 10TV’s Glenn McEntyre reported.
Health officials said the boy recently traveled to Mexico with his family.
“The Ohio Department of Health will have the Emergency Operations Center open and they will be coordinating with the Ohio Emergency Operations Center as well in order to communicate with the public and share information as it becomes available to us,” said Gov. Ted Strickland. “This will allow us to more closely monitor and examine the situation as it may develop.”
