Taiwan ex-convict asks to go back to jail
by Mila J
It looks like times are hard for everybody, everywhere—not just in America. According to a recent Reuters news report, a 45 year-old convicted arsonist who’s reportedly been living on the streets of Taipei, the capital city, made a request to the local police forces to be sent back to prison. The country is experiencing a recession due to major decreases in exports, including electronics. Having served 10 years, the man was released two years ago and has yet to find work but asked to be sent back to prison so that “he could eat.” Once the officers found him they bought him a boxed lunch and advised him to keep looking for work. His requests, however, to be sent back to jail were denied.
