BIG SCREEN :: Madea Sweeps the Box Office!

Tyler Perry’s latest release “Madea Goes to Jail” took the nation’s box offices by storm this weekend raking in a record $41.1 million. This is Perry’s highest grossing debut to date and the highest grossing box office weekend after President’s Day in history. The action drama “Taken” came in a distant second place bringing in $11.4 mil, followed by “Coraline” with $11 mil even. This speaks to Hollywood’s hold on the recession. Apparently a night at the movies is still in the budget.
