WTF?? :: Ohio State Makes Negative National News… Again

blocko
post by … m.lauren

As a recent alum of OSU.. I am always excited to see my schools name in headlines.. unfortunately.. the majority of Buckeye news tends to be negative.. much like the headline posted boldly on one of the most read black gossip rags.. mediatakeout.com.

“Ohio State University Bans ALL BLACK FRATERNITIES AND SORORITIES On Campus … Cites Violence As Cause”… Now this wasn’t news to me as I still keep in touch with friends from school and receive the Lantern (school newspaper) in my gmail inbox daily… but it bothered me that no one wants to say anything about OSU unless it’s something negative or the Bucks have won a championship!

Anyway.. maybe you heard about the altercation that took place in November after a frat party… supposedly involving firearms… now all of the NPHC orgs on campus are on social moratorium - a suspension of social activities - until February.

This story, which affects the members of these organizations and the students that attend their events is of no consequence to this post… it is merely an example..

The Ohio State University is the largest school in the country, boasting top 10 and 20 ratings for many of their programs (like the Fisher college of Business). The University is the center of much Columbus news and activity.. but when it comes to the nation.. all there is to talk about is sports and negativity?!?! It pains me to see headlines that portray OSU as a haven for intelligent derelicts, classroom thugs and the few black people as well… average black people… But that’s news for you isn’t it?!?!

I wanna know your thoughts first fly readers..
