Well 365 days are almost over this year and most people, like me, can’t wait to go out and party hard on New Year’s Eve. Being a promoter, I’m out all year long partying with the stars but for some reason on New Year’s Eve I feel like it’s my time to shine. With that said, I gotta walk into the New Year’s Eve event looking plush. So what to wear?

Hat (Optional) -
If you just got out the barber chair then you don’t have to worry about wearing a hat. A small skully, that does not fold over, would add a nice touch to your outfit. The ones I suggest are the well knitted kind or one with a subtle pattern. Listen…if the hat goes over your ears and you have to make a fold and it still comes over your ears, then you have on the wrong kind of skully.

Scarf -
Scarves were seen on Jay-Z to Lil’ Wayne in 2008 and have officially been accepted into men’s fashion. A few years back you wouldn’t be caught dead with a scarf on but cats like Kanye have made them “cool” for us. This Gucci scarf would not only keep your neck warm but also adds a nice bit of class.

Jacket -
This Burberry SS09 Edition would be the perfect jacket to step in to a party on New Year’s eve wearing. Even though this jacket is really pricey, you can always get a fly peacoat and accessorize accordingly.

Undershirt -
Since you’re already wearing a jacket I suggest wearing a clean solid color tee, preferably a white one. This will give you a slight glow but still pair up nice with your jacket and offer no distractions. No point in wasting a crest button up when no one can see it. $20.00. Gap

Jeans -
I know most men’s jeans are flashy and creative but for bringing in the New Year choose a pair of Red Clay’s. This designer is built on clean, sleek designs. This is more for your chill and relaxed consumer. You can find Red Clay and jeans like this at MILK BAR on High St. (Campus area) for around $90.00

Shoes -
Sorry fellas but you will have to put ya sneakers in the back of the closet this New Years. Most clubs and parties will have a very strict dress code and will only allow hard bottoms. If you aren’t a hard bottom type of cat (like myself) you can find some sporty loafers that would make you feel more comfortable than the traditional dress shoe. These Kenneth Cole loafers would put the icing on the cake.

As you slide on your shoes to make your outfit complete, just take a glance in the mirror and check out how fly you are. Know that this is a New Year and maybe even add some of these types of clothes to your daily wardrobe. This will prepare you for any situation whether it’s a dress code or casual event.
