We are no stranger to this “tough guy’s” knack for pissing people off, but Taco Bell….seriously??? It appears that in a thwarted attempt at flattery, reps for Taco Bell asked rapper 50 cent to add some “spare change” to his name and call himself 79, 89, or 99 cent in honor of their value menu. They even sweetened the deal and offered to donate $10k to his favorite charity. Fiddy was not impressed to say the least, he responded with a $4 million law suit for trademark infringement due to their use of his name in the letter.
Taco Bell is in turn counter-suing and denouncing Fiddy’s character by stating that this whole ordeal is ”another of Jackson’s attempts to burnish his gangsta rapper persona by distorting beyond all recognition the bona fide, good faith offer that Taco Bell made.” Their legal team maintains their right to use his name based on the First Amendment. This is some silly school yard bumping of the shoulder going in circles, knock this stick off my shoulder means you said my momma BS. But you have to admit it’s funny!!!
