HIP HOP :: JAY-Z HOLDS OUT ON BP 3 BUT ROCKS WITH COLDPLAY IN NEW VIDEO

I know everyone is thirsty for the Blueprint 3, but I guess we just have to twiddle our thumbs and wait. Now this doesn’t mean that he won’t be busy doing other projects or being seen with his new wife Beyonce!
People know that Sean Carter is a fan of certain rock groups. Back in 2004, Jay collaborated with Linkin Park for an album titled Collision Course. The project was mash ups of Jay and Linkin Park songs that brought home a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with “Numb/Encore.”
More recently, Hov headlined the Glastonbury Festival in 2008. He would be the first major hip-hop artist to headline the rock ruled festival. Although Oasis’ Noel Gallagher was critical of Jay’s selection to headline the affair, Jay opened up with a tongue-in-cheek performance of Oasis’ “Wonderwall” and proved that he was indeed a rock star. He also made a guest appearance on Fall Out Boy’s Infinity On High album. So it is really no secret that rock music holds a special place and Jay-Z’s heart.

Jay has taken a liking to Coldplay and lead singer Chris Martin over the past couple of years. Martin was featured on “Beach Chair” off of Jay’s Kingdom Come album. To return the favor, Jay has hopped on Coldplay’s remix of the song “Lost” - which will be featured on the band’s upcoming Prospekt’s March EP - and recently shot a video with the group.
The video features Coldplay performing in concert as a television sits on the stage. Jay appears on the screen in black and white and delivers his guest verse as Coldplay and the audience rock out. As the song ends, Jay can be seen on television taking a bow while Martin and his band leave the stage.
