If you are an advocate reader of FLYPAPER then you know that usually our Flyer Things in Life article is about more high end expensive taste. Well I decided to switch it up as the title is called Flyer Things in Life and that can carry many meanings. I found some Cool creative furniture for this weeks issue and as you continue reading you will understand the FLY part behind each piece.

FUNITURE MADE FROM SKATEBOARDS
J Ryde Visuals and the Skateboard Stool bring you some Retro chairs. Broken skateboards are a by product of our culture usually destined for the landfill. The deckstool recycles this waste into a unique, high quality piece of furniture. The scrapes and scars on the decks create beautiful patterns over the original skateboard artwork

LED COFFEE TABLE PLAYS PONG
It’s easy for aspiring retro kids to emulate the ’80s in their clothing, but how are they supposed to furnish their apartments? Leave the moldy antiques at the thrift store and check out this new LED Coffee Table from SparkFun Electronics, a custom made concept that lets you relive Atari’s original table tennis game, Pong. Using LED lights, SparkFun created a fully-functional version of the game in furniture form, complete with four original Atari joysticks.

SOUND WAVE CHAIR
Although this chair looks like it’s made from LEGOS, designer Matthew Plummer Fernandez actually used a much more geeky material in building it: sound waves. You may ask yourself how can you make a chair out of sound waves? But you can.The Sound/Chair has contours that precisely match sound waves mapped on a 3D graph of volume (height), frequency (depth), and time (width).

Fernandez tried 719 different sounds before he found the one that resulted in his ideal chair design. Once he settled on that, he made the physical chair out of water-jet-cut polyethylene foam. Officially launched this month, the Sound/Chair sells for the deafening price of $7,280. I must say the design is inventive but that price is crazy.
