With the shorter days and the chill in the air, one thing is clear..it’s officially fall. It’s a time when many find themselves scrambling to find things to do other than collecting pounds on the couch while watching football. It’s the perfect time to partake in one of America’s favorite pastimes..going to the movies. Luckily FlyPaper has the scoop on all the latest and hottest movies set to be released this season. Horror or comedy; girls night out or first date, this season there’s something for everyone. So relax and take notes of FlyPaper’s fall movie preview.

Miracle at St. Anna -The latest release from the critically acclaimed Spike Lee follows the lives of four African American soldiers. The soldiers find themselves trapped in a small Tuscan village during World War II after one of them risks his life to save an Italian child. Release date: 9/26.

Max Payne-There’s nothing like a video game based film to get the male blood flowing. A gamer favorite, Max Payne is hitting the big screen. Mark Wahlberg stars as Payne, a DEA agent seeking revenge against the Mafia for the murder of his wife and child. Faithful Payne fans will be pleased with the striking resemblance that Wahlberg bears to the character. Release date: 10/17.

TOO SEE MORE GET STUCK

The Secret Life of Bees-An all star cast makes up this film which has created a major buzz in Hollywood. Queen Latifah, Jennifer Hudson, and Alicia Keys join Dakota Fanning in this drama set in the early 60’s. Fanning plays the role of a teenage girl troubled by her mother’s death who flees with her caregiver (Hudson) to a South Carolina town to dig up her mother’s past. Release date: 10/17.

Saw V-The 5th installment of the horror classic will have movie-goers jumping out of their skin this Halloween. Saw V will focus on Detective Hoffman, seemingly the last person left alive to carry on the work of Jigsaw. Of course there will be hours of twists, turns, flashbacks, blood and gore to keep people guessing until the final five minutes of the film. Disclaimer: DO NOT attempt to watch this film without viewing the previous four. As an avid horror movie buff, I’ll be the first in line to get my ticket for this one. Release date: 10/24.

Soul Men-Starring Samuel L. Jackson, John Legend and the late, great Bernie Mac, this musical comedy tells the story of two back-up singers who agree to a tribute performance in honor of a deceased band member. The duo reunites after refusing to speak to each other for 20 years. Sure to be full of laughter, this movie will also tug at the hearts of all of us that are still mourning the loss of Bernie Mac. Release date: 11/7.

Quantum of Solace-Daniel Craig returns as James Bond in this latest installment of the timeless series. The action/thriller finds Bond seeking revenge for death of his lover while simultaneously fighting to stop a villain from taking over the country’s water supply. Bond fans..get ready! Release date: 11/14.

The Soloist-This film (rumored to be an Oscar shoe-in) stars Jamie Foxx as former musical prodigy, now homeless and playing on the streets of L.A. Foxx’s character is befriended by Robert Downey Jr., a struggling journalist, who helps him find his way through music. This movie is guaranteed to be a tear-jerker. Guys, when your lady drags you to see this one just suck it up. You’ll get a good laugh from Foxx’s hair. Release date: 11/21.

Seven Pounds-Will Smith and Rosario Dawson team up for this drama. Smith stars as a suicidal man whose death plan is foiled when he finds love. The film is directed by Gabriele Muccino who also directed The Pursuit of Happyness. Release date: 12/19.
