Ike Affects Oil Supply, Gas Prices to Skyrocket
Soon the residents of Texas won’t be the only ones feeling the powerful punch of Hurricane Ike. The storm is causing strain on the oil supply, causing at least 13 refineries to shut down by Friday. Gas prices are expected to skyrocket through the weekend, while Hurricane Ike continues to affect the Texas coast.
Prices are reported to be above $4.80 in Atlanta, and above $5.00 in parts of Florida. Many stations in Columbus were up to $3.99 per gallon by late Saturday morning.
If you you have not already filled up your tank then do so. Immediately.
