Meet Wendy. She is a Whippet. A whippet is a small slender dog, of a greyhound type, developed in England. However; Wendy is a Bully Whippet, she has a muscular mutation which results in big bulked muscles. This is called the whippet myostatin gene, or in Lehman’s terms a double muscle. Wendy has very fast muscle growth and repair which increases speed, agility and even power! Could you imagine facing this stray dog on the streets?
On the contrary to her looks, Wendy’s owner says that she is a very friendly and playful bitch. Bully whippets are generally put to sleep upon birth because they do not meet the American Kennel Club whippet standard; however, many people are taking a liking to these over grown dogs because of their superiority on the race tracks.
Scientist are testing DNA and searching for the gene that causes this distinction. This mutated gene has also been found in humans and in a bull as well. Just imagine if you were built from birth with a stone cold body.
