Now this takes the cake! For those who live in Columbus, everyone knows that Comfest is a weekend festival where the unexpected is norm and freedom to be yourself is the key. Well this year it looks like there will be another type of expression at Comfest, SILENCE. Comfest will feature this year their first silent dance party to happen in Columbus. A silent dance party is when party goers put on cordless headphones and listen to music from a common source. The common source for this party at Comfest will be DJ Jimmy Sexton who is a great DJ in my opinion. So why is the party silent? I have no clue. Maybe because of the noise complaints from the Goodale Park residents. Either way this is going to be very interesting. Myself I am a very visual person and I just don’t get it. As a veteran event promoter I know that you want to feel the party, the base in your chest, the overall feeling over the whole crowd. This new concept would make me laugh. Just the thought of walking up and seeing a whole bunch of people that look like their yelling and cheering for no reason would freak me out. I can’t stop laughing as I write this. There are so many funny scenarios I can imagine happening at this event. None the less I will be there to see how it goes. As a promoter I am also not stupid enough to ignore a new trend.
