First Lil Wayne comes down on the DJ’s, now Jermaine Dupri says that DJ’s are dead. WTF? I know a lot of DJ’s didn’t take that too lightly. Not even The Drama King himself DJ Kay Slay. Slay responded to Dupri by saying he failed at Arista Records, failed Virgin records and will probably flop face first at Island Def Jam as well. I THINK HE ALREADY DID. Yet Dupri has a new artist in the works that is going to need the support of as many DJ’s as possible.

Slay stated, “for JD to say the DJ is dead, guess what I’ma say? The *BLEEP* executives are dead. Now. How ’bout that? Now I can put more on the table to that….Why? Because executives is the sole reason why all these *BLEEP* artists is floppin right now and the game is *BLEEP* up. Now, the time ya’ll come out that *BLEEP* underground railroad ya’ll *BLEEP* hiding at, and stick your head up for air and look around to see what the *BLEEP* is going on,maybe some artists can sell some records. Stop taking that one record that an artist got and throwing *BLEEP* 13 other *BLEEP* up records together, and then throwing the album out, and *BLEEP* the artist up, just to sell some ring tones and get some iTunes.” DROP A BOMB ON THAT!

Why are all these executives and some of these artists blaming the DJ’s? The DJ is the heart of hip hop. Without the DJ, what would you have? You would have just a boom box or a record player. I am glad that Slay put some of these executives on blast. However, there are some so called DJ’s who are not breaking records and who won’t listen to new artists let alone put their song on the album unless they are getting a cut. There aren’t enough DJ’s out there that are like DJ Red Alert, who would say your record was wack and possibly end your career. Especially if they were getting paid to spin it. I guess being a trashy rapper with a stupid song no longer makes a difference. Just look at Soulja Boy and Bow Wow (HEY GIRL!).

I feel that Jermaine Dupri needs to just sit back and figure out how he is gonna help his woman’s [Janet Jackson] career because it’s going nowhere. Oh yeah, where is Da Brat? I forgot she’s still figuring out her sexuality and throwing temper tantrums at clubs. Oh wait, I almost missed these guys and so did everyone else, Jagged Edge and Dem Franchize Boys. These guys have no type of promotion. Let us not forget the Queen Bee, Bow Wow. He is as wack as they come! He was cute when he was little, but now it’s like you want to put a muzzle in his mouth or make him come out the closet. I KNOW, THAT WAS A LOW BLOW. OH WELL!

I just feel that some of these DJ’s need to do what they do for the love of it and not the money and stop putting out these corny rappers and corny songs! I feel some of these executives should do the same thing and really brainstorm before putting an artists out there. Hopefully hip hop will get it together as a whole. If not, we are in big trouble.
