FLYPAPER EXCLUSIVE: TOO SHORT shows Columbus, Ohio some Left Coast Love

Revew by Lady Kootore
The Godfather of rap was in the CO once again and boy did he bring the house down! I am talking about the one and only Too $hort.
The Oakland native brought some of his West coast flavor for free to Skully’s last night and he didn’t miss a beat. The crowd was crazy! It was wall to wall people on the inside and on the patio drinking and having a good time.
The DJ was spinning the hot tunes and taking us way back. Too $hort got on stage and put it down along with a live band. He performed his greatest hits such as, “The Ghetto”, “Life is Too $hort”, “Getting it” and my favorite “Freaky Tales.” He also performed a few of his most recent hits “Blow the Whistle” and the booty anthem “Shake that Monkey.”
He called a few donkeys, I mean females to come on stage and shake their monkey. Let me tell you, these donkeys really went there on shaking their booty. You thought they were about to get a check or appear in his next video or something. Too $hort also took the time out to have a few local artist come up and show off some of their skills (Shout out to Fly Union for doing the damn thing! I love you guys!). He also called his longtime friend Mix Master Ice up on stage.
I didn’t think Too $hort was ever going to get off the stage. He was up there for a good hour or more. The crowd sang along to every song. I just can’t believe that this man has been in the game for 21 years, done 15 albums and still holding strong in the game.
I got a chance to meet up with him in V.I.P and the way he looked at me I thought he was addressing me with his eyes, but he was very respectful even though he said I was security. I mean I know I am tall but DANG!
Hopefully these young cats that are coming into the game will change their ways and look up to Too $hort and see how he keeps it real. Honestly, I feel that is what will keep you in the game for a long time.
Keep it stuck for more concert reviews!
