FLYVIEW with TERRENCE J: Q & A

Stomping On The Yard is a national step show tour that has grown by leaps and bounds in only five years of existence. The tour has traveled to over 70 college campuses, featured over 420 step teams, and awarded more that $288,000 in prizes and awards. The Ohio State show was the last leg of the 2008 tour, and the participating teams pulled out all the stops to take home the top prize. Spartan Warriors, cheerleaders, and old-school Harlem professionals appeared on stage, each pushing their creativity to the limit. At the end of the night, first place went to the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta and the men of Phi Beta Sigma.

Overall the show was a great time, but the highlight was definitely my exclusive, backstage interview with Terrence J where we discussed his involvement with Stomping On The Yard, his college experience, and the truth about his relationship with Rocsi.

FP: “So Terrence, can you tell me what your involvement has been with the Stomping On The Yard Tour?”

TERRENCE J: “I’ve hosted a couple of dates for them, and I just think that they are an outstanding organization. A lot of major corporations don’t take time to give back to colleges and the Greek community, so I’m really excited to be part of the tour.”

FP: “What is the livest school that you’ve been to so far, other than Ohio State?”

TERRENCE J: “Ohio State is definitely up there on the list as one of the livest. All of the schools we go to from Howard, to Clark Atlanta, to North Carolina A&T..we just get a lot of a lot of love everywhere we go, but Ohio State is definitely up there!”

FOR FULL INTERVIEW…

FP: “Now Terrence, I know you’re a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, so tell me what your fondest Omega memory is.”

TERRENCE J: “Ha ha ha. My fondest Omega memory was crossing. It took me a very long time to get there..it was a very long journey getting there. I was just happy to be able to cross and be able to serve in that capacity.”

FP: “Can you tell me what you have coming up in the future?”

TERRENCE J: “I just signed a deal with (to be a model) with Sean Jean. I also just signed with Rockport, so I’ll be doing an ad with them. We’re working on a movie right now, we just resigned with BET for another four years, we’ve got a radio show that we’re doing, and we just signed on with McDonalds as the face of the African American Scholarship Program. We’re busy.”

FP: “One last question for you. I would not be doing the ladies of Columbus, Ohio justice if I did not ask this. Are you single?”

TERRENCE J: “Absolutely single, but hopefully not after tonight!”
