50 CENT GETS ROBBED??

Is it just me, or has 50 Cent has been in the news more than the Spears sisters, circa 2007? Well this week is no different. Several weeks ago FlyPaper delivered the news of 50 Cent and G-Unit’s plans to tour South Africa and Tanzania. Now it seems as if the tour wasn’t well received by all of the concert-goers.
A lack of security during one of the shows prompted what has now become one of the most googled videos since Kim Kardashian’s sex scandal. Drama erupted during the Angola leg of the tour, drawing negative attention to what was intended to be a quasi-conscious performance. During 50 Cent’s performance, an unidentified fan jumped on stage and snatched the rapper’s signature diamond chain from his neck. Footage of the chain snatching antics was captured by another concert-goer. The video shows the crowd parting as the chain snatcher jumped from the stage and ran through the audience to what he thought was safety. Then according to 50’s personal website, ThisIs50.com, “all hell broke lose.”
According to the website, what wasn’t shown on camera was an enraged 50 Cent jumping into the audience to chase the thief down. A G-Unit source also claimed that 50 punched the thief in the jaw and that his chain is back around his neck right now. Really, what was this guy thinking? It’s sad that the rapper’s good deeds of meeting with Nelson Mandela and drawing attention to an area that lacks privilege has been overshadowed by the crackish actions of one clown.
50 Cent’s label yet to comment on the incident, but some damage control can be expected. A punch in the jaw from 50 is sure to cause some serious medical damage. I bet that’s the last time that guy snatches ANYTHING.
