Seventeen months to the day since the November, 2006 shooting of groom to be Sean Bell, a Queens judge found three undercover detectives that were involved NOT GUILTY OF ALL CHARGES!  YES, NOT GUILTY!  Detectives Michael Oliver, Gescard Isnora and Marc Cooper were cleared of all charges.  “What we saw in the court today was not a miscarriage justice,” The Rev. Al Sharpton stated on his radio program.  “Justice didn’t miscarry,” he said.  “This was an abortion of justice.  Justice was aborted.”  I just don’t understand how these cops could get off by shooting 50 shots.  OH WAIT! I FORGOT! THEY ARE THE BOYS IN BLUE SO OF COURSE THEY CAN GET OFF! 

I happened to be staying in NY at the time the shooting took place and I just about lost my mind.  Sean Bell, Joseph Guzman and Trent Benefield were coming out of the strip club called Kalua in Queens after wrapping up a bachelor party.  The cops were undercover that night because they were doing some investigation on the club.  There was an argument outside of the club between a man and a friend of Bell’s.  Detective Isnora told the grand jury that he believed that Guzman was going to Bell’s car to get his gun.  That’s when the officers called for back up.  JUST OFF OF ASSUMPTION!  Then with Bell behind the wheel, officers approached the car, without identifying themselves and unloaded.  Detective Oliver was the only one who reloaded his 9mm semi automatic weapon firing 31 shots, while Detective Isnora fired 11 shots, and Detective Cooper fired 4.  Let me remind you that no gun was found in Bell’s car.

 This is a day of injustice!  You all think that these cops got our back, they really don’t.  Some of these officers are not even trained properly to protect and serve.  Now we as a minority have to really watch what we do, what we say and how we live because since these NYPD officers got off, this will give any cop an excuse to kill a African-American.  This hurts my heart to the fullest especially for Bell’s family.  I got the opportunity to meet them last year along with Guzman and his family and they are just the most down to earth people you will ever meet and Bell’s daughters are so precious!  They look just like him!  We as a people need to open our eyes and do something about this!  I don’t mean riot or do anything violent! We need to get out and protest and get out and VOTE!!!  This should be an eye opener people! LET’S GET IT TOGETHER!  LIKE THEY ALWAYS SAY HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF! Again my prayers and condolences go out to the Bell family! We here at Fly Paper are praying for ya’ll!! Stay strong and keep God first! Believe me, it will get better!
