Sunday evening I stumbled upon Reverend Jeremiah Wright addressing the NAACP.   I was reluctant to watch, seeing how all the media coverage about him has been negative, but something he said caught my attention: We need to learn to see that when it comes to others different is not deficient.  Rev. Wright went on to deliver a POWERFUL message about cultural tolerance.  He brilliantly supported his claims with factual evidence based on studies and statistics.  In his well-documented references he spoke several other languages, and referenced many other religions.

Wrights theme- “A Change is going to come” had a five point closing.  Wright says as Americans we need to do the following in order to grow and prosper:

-Change the way we see others; Change the way we see ourselves; Change the way we treat each other; Change the way we MIStreat each other; and Change the world we live in so that our children, grandchildren…. will have a world to live in. Regardless of how you may feel about the Reverend, you have to admit…. wrong is wrong, but Wright is right!

CNN covered the speech in its entirety in an effort to quiet ridicule that they were slanting his former messages by selective editing. They really proved themselves wrong this time.  While most are critical of Wright saying that his open expression of his extreme views are hurting the Obama campaign because of their association, he is getting his 15 mins. fame in regardless. Can’t knock the hustle!
