50 Cent, Tony Yayo, Violator Management, Interscope and G-Unit Records are all targets of a lawsuit by plaintiff Cynthia Reed for allegedly promoting violence and gangster behavior. The lawsuit stems from an incident that took place March 2007, in which then 14 year-old James Rosemond, son of Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond and the plaintiff was assaulted.. Yayo and three other man reportedly jumped young Henchman for rockin’ a Czar Entertainement shirt (as in The Game’s management company run by Jimmy Rosemond).
Reed’s lawsuit states that the attack on her son was intended to “promote and maintain Yayo and 50 Cents ‘gangsta’ image, ” which has also been “promoted, marketed and advertised” by their record labels. Yayo admitted to threatening the teen and was sentenced to 10 days of community service. Another G-Unit employee was sentenced to 9 months in jail for his involvement. According to the suit “the members of Gu-Unit… approved and condoned its members threatening violence, and or engaging in violent acts in furtherance of its business.” G-Unit has made no comment in regards to the suit. We beat up kids who don’t rep our set- how elementary… I mean gangsta is dat!?!
