With the year ending with the fresh air of true hip hop and neo soul classics from such artists as Jill Scott, Common, Talib Kweli, and Raheim DaVaughn, I’m even more excited for upcoming releases from artists such as Erykah Badu and Pete Rock. And just in the nick of time comes THE ROOTS. Yezzir the Roots are back with what looks to be a all star cast.

The Roots (crew including, Dice Raw, Truck North, P.O.R.N., and Malik B) have a new album titled “Rising Down” and is due out later this year.

The guest list on the album includes Mos Def, Common, Kweli, Peedi Peedi, Styles P, Wale, Patrick Stump, Mercedes Martinez, Chrisette Michelle. Also rumored to appear are Q-Tip, Lupe Fiasco, and more.
