Just when you thought things were looking good for Eddie Murphy (after a lack luster movie, rumors of being gay, threat of being put in the “who cares” category) when he married Tracy Edmunds, now rumors of being gay are about to boil over. After only 2 WEEKS the promising couple has called it quits. I guess Eddie hasn’t learned since his “Delirious” days.

Here is the statement the quick to split couple released to the public:

“After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further,” Murphy and Edmonds tell PEOPLE in an exclusive statement. “While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends.”

So does that mean that Johnny Gill is moving in to give Eddie a helping hand during his hard times. I bet he is. I knew those tight purple outfits had some meaning. Stay tuned for more.
