This writers strike has dealt a serious blow to television as we know it. As if it wasn’t enough that your favorite shows are going down the drain (seriously, someone was referred to as a “chickenhead” on Law & Order last week), now the strike is effecting some of the biggest awards shows of the year. First the People’s Choice Awards, then the Golden Globes….and now the Grammys may be a bust. The Writers Guild of America is threatening to picket at the Grammys.

The Writers Guild has maintained overwhelming support from the Screen Actors Guild during the strike. That means your favorite artist/actor double threat may not be in attendance. That’s right…there may be no Beyonce, no Justin Timberlake, no Alicia Keys. This has the potential to get messy, especially considering that this 50th year of the shows existence. If the Grammys turn out to be anything like the mess that was the Golden Globe Awards, then this should make for a VERY interesting wrap story!
