Oprah Expands Her Media Empire, Gets Her “OWN” Channel
Oprah is killing the media game right now! The mogul has just landed a deal with Discovery Communication to launch her OWN CABLE CHANNEL. The channel will be called OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. Winfrey will chair the venture and will have full editorial control. The current Discovery Health Channel will evolve into the OWN Channel by 2009. The channel is slated to air mostly non-fiction material in high-definition. Oprah is truly the definition of a media powerhouse!
