Trouble check reveals porn downloads at Dayton firehouse

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Computer specialists thought they were looking for a virus when they tapped into a township’s computer system that was using an abnormally large amount of bandwidth.
When they tracked the problem to a fire department computer in Butler Township north of Dayton, they found that firefighters had been downloading porn and other files that officials termed inappropriate.
A police investigation found probable misconduct by 10 fire department employees, and two have resigned. A pre-disciplinary hearing by township trustees is scheduled for later this month.
