AEG and reps for the Jackson family just announced a memorial service for Michael Jackson will take place at the Staples Center on Tuesday at 10:00 AM.
11,000 tickets will be distributed free of charge to the general public — a press conference will be held tomorrow morning to address the situation further.

Megan Fox slammed “Transformers” director Michael Bay for focusing more on special effects than acting, but he doesn’t mind.
“Well, that’s Megan Fox for you,” Bay tell the Wall Street Journal. “She says some very ridiculous things because she’s 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do.

The Detroit Pistons have reached agreement with free-agent guard Ben Gordon(notes) and forward Charlie Villanueva(notes), a source with knowledge of the talks told Yahoo! Sports Wednesday evening.
Gordon will receive a five-year contract worth around $55 million while Villanueva’s five-year deal is expected to be worth about $35 million.
Gordon and Villanueva, who played together for a year at UConn, traveled to Detroit on Wednesday morning to meet with Detroit president Joe Dumars and other Pistons front-office officials. They took a tour of the practice facility in Auburn Hills, had lunch with management and both ultimately came to terms on an agreement. Gordon agreed first and Villanueva followed soon after. The vid, directed by Dan The Man and Chris “Broadway” Romero, is inspired by the award-winning Phillips “Carousel” commercial, directed by Adam Berg, which depicts a single-shot frozen-in-time robbery and ensuing shootout between clowns and cops.
“50’s in a clown mask and he’s part of this robbery crew,” revealed Broadway of the video’s treatment. “Mixed with our crazy club performance, the whole concept is you have this crazy record and club performance and it trips back and you’re showing that [50] never really left. New York is here and it’s represented well on this record, but on top of that there’s this subplot with the whole clown situation.”
“We actually have a partnership with Phillips where they gave us the rights to take this commercial,” he added. “It was kinda underexposed. They made a great piece but maybe didn’t know how to use it that well so we took it and we just taking it way over the hill with a smash record at the same time and the biggest hip-hop artist on the planet.”
Hot 97 listeners were also given the opportunity to be a part of the action, with 150 contest winners getting cameos in the clip.

It has been almost a week since the untimely death of icon Michael Jackson. All around the world people have been celebrating the life of a legend. Within the past few days since the news broke that the pop icon had died, many of the legendary singer’s friends, colleagues, and family members have paid tribute to the late singer. This past Friday (June 26), the memories of Michael kept coming, as Brooke Shields, Slash and little sister Janet remembered Jackson as a friend, brother, music pioneer and, of course, the King of Pop.
“Janet Jackson is grief-stricken and devastated at the sudden loss of her brother,” stated by manager Kenneth Crear to MTV News. “She is in pre-production on a film and is flying immediately to California to be with her family.” Since Jackson released her statement, she has been seen in Los Angeles, including her appearance on the BET Awards.
“My heart is overcome with sadness for the devastating loss of my true friend Michael,” Brooke Shields, who dated Jackson in the ’80s, said in a statement to MTV News. “He was an extraordinary friend, artist and contributor to the world. I join his family and his fans in celebrating his incredible life and mourning his untimely passing.” Read more…

The conception and incorporation of a human-powered taxi (ECT Pedicab) in the downtown area is brilliant idea.
I chatted with Peter from ECT just briefly last night in the Short North. As I understand it, they were pretty busy last weekend from Comfest. I could have used one Sunday night after walking most of the day.
Have any of you used the pedicab? If so, Do you have any suggestions for finding them. Their web site didn’t list the area covered, but it did provide a contact phone number for them.

Is he Young Money or not? Is he signed with Young Money or just an affiliate? It really doesn’t matter to me because he rolls with Young Money so he has all the leverage he needed. The drama surrounding which label Drake wanted to sign with was deeper than a damn NFL draft. He was touted to go to several different record labels and now it looks like he went the direction with the most money
The long-anticipated wait is over as Drake has signed a record deal which places him under the wings of Young Money, Cash Money, Universal and Republic. While an official statement has yet to emerge, the rapper’s long trek of signing speculation has come to an end. (SOHH)
Aside from the announcement, online reports spread last week which said Drake would likely be signing with Universal Motown.
According to several sources on the left coast, Toronto native, and Hip-Hop’s second coming, Drake, who’s been used as tug toy between Atlantic Records, Universal Records, Interscope Records and Def Jam Records has allegedly inked a deal with Universal Records.
From my understanding, Drake was set to announce his new found Hip-Hop residence some time soon, but I guess word got out a little premature and landed directly in my lap. Now, the lil birdie who threw me this tidbit got the information straight from the label
